Today, 20 January 2021, marks the swearing-in of our 46th President of the United States, Joseph R. Biden. Which brings me to the question... who is your king?
Through all the turmoil brought on this past year by COVID, political unrest, and civil anarchy, the Church is pressed to answer a critical question asked by Elijah, "How long will you waver between serving Baal and Yahweh? If Yahweh be God, then worship him; if Baal, then worship him." (1 Kings 18)
If we are truly the Body of Christ, then we need to act like it by placing the One True King on His thrown and stop searching for a man to be our salvation in times of trouble. We must stop being "fair weather" followers. Yeah... it's easy to follow God when things are going well, but in whom do you find comfort and redemption when things aren't going so well - or not conforming to the way you think they should go?
Today is an opportune time for serious, spiritual self-examination. Who's with me?
